Estate Sale, 4 Wound Badges

Not a collector of German items but these seemed like a good deal....if real. Are they authentic? Two have the Nazi symbol (WW2?) and two do not (WW1?) #3 is solid (non-magnetic) the others are stamped (magnetic). They are different colors? Very valuable? I know nothing. Thanks.

Ww1 gold and black grade...
Maybe worth $25 for black and $60 for gold? (Crude guesses)

Others are ww2 silver and black grades. Silver looks to be marked 65 for Klein and Quenzer and probably worth $70 or so and the black maybe $35?

Again rough guesses but all original pieces!

Thanks! It is good to know they are "real". I appreciate your estimates too; that is exactly what I was looking for. Regarding the WW2 Silver one....do you mean the metal is silver or is it just a silver color? Even the pin etc. is non-magnetic on it. Thanks again.

No, it's made from Zinc but it's a silver grade. The black ww2 version is most likely steel or iron.

Correction : top two ww1 versions are both black...someone just painted them over the black with krylon silver and gold paint....see paint bleeding through from the original finish....so its two WW1 blacks, one silver grade, and a black ww2.IMO (appears someone may have re-soldered the pin hinge plate on the right bottom ww2 black badge.)

Gold ww1 looks like raw steel showing through to me but could be wrong.

Probably right about the hinge solder.

I agree, it is the steel showing through.

Regarding the hinge of the bwb, Imo the solder got a bit corroded which is not uncommon with some makers. There is also some corrosion around the catch.

Generally solder doesnt corrode per se...it just gets grayer or blacker with age, and this appears silver, so that tells me it has been re -melted to reaffix the hinge plate. That happens occasionally with some production runs of badges if the materials arent fluxed or tinned correctly, and cleanliness in soldering is paramount IF you want a job that will defy time and hard combat wear.
The score here on this estate deal is good regardless, let this be inspiring to those who only buy offline to get out and see the real world for a change, as it's never known what you will find if you start looking and see in our minds eye things you would like to find.
For me it appears first in the mind then soon after ....there it is as I imagined it right in front of me...that's when you must pounce if you expect to score . Only thing about auctions is: If there are too many buyers for the same thing, such as this , the price can be high if bidding wars happen, but if there are other items , wound badges may not go for the higher prices as the other things worth more will be the items fought over...then again if it's a country auction with a few antique dealers and there is little interest then that's the ticket that makes it worthwhile to stand there all day and wait for them to hit the block. Sometimes you are there for the day and go home with nada. ( you can never tell)

I took some close up photos of the questionable solder points for you to evaluate. It just looks like oxidation to me...but you guys look it over. I also am posting a photo of the edge of this WB. Most of them have the profile of the wreath leaves that make the edge wavy; this one has excess metal outside of the wreath that is bent over forming a smooth edge????

All original just oxidation by the hinge/catch.

Edge is normal.
