    BWB marked 107 on pin

    Hi Guys

    Is it possible to identify a possible maker for this Black Wound badge from the obverse.

    I will post the reverse once you guys have had a look at the obverse. It is marked on the reverse but not in the usual place for the particular maker mark.

      Thanks for your thoughts.

      Here is the reverse, with a maker mark on the pin.

      I have never seen a 107 on the pin before and wondered if the badge had the design of a 107. The mark looks good.

          Thank you very much for posting that picture , I have never seen a 107 marked on pin. I have several Carl Wild badges but all of mine have a much smoother reverse surface with hardly any dimples showing.

          I think I need to do a little more research on these..

            I've got 4 107 marked BWBs at home, one of which has an incuse-relief pin stamp. Don't have any pics with me, sorry.

                  I am not sure at the moment, that is why I will need a little more research. These wounds from the obverse all look alike to me.

                  What we do know is that Carl Wild had many variations with maker mark placement, but this was a first for me, but I am glad to see others are actually out there. Looking at the mark with a loupe it is very nice, crisp and clear, exactly like the 107s you see on other medals/crosses such as KVK2s, so the mark is genuine for sure imo.

                  The hardware is also seen on other 107 wound badges but as it is quite a common set up, probably shows up on other makers too..

                  At least with mine, we can say it is probably an early example as it looks to be made of brass or tombak.

                  When I get time I will look at the obverse of my other 107s which are the smooth reverse variants.
