    Silver wound badge

Today I received a small group of items from a friend who inherited them from his grandfather's estate. One of the items is a wound badge in silver that has a mark next to the inset hook that appears to be 00. This appears to be a late war badge as it has an integral hook. Does anyone have an idea as to the mark? Is it a partial makers mark?

    Cheers, Steve

Probably a maker mark of 100. It is usually found around the catch. Someone will probably post a picture of one here soon.

Here's a closeup. But it's not an integral (cast-in) catch, the flat wire ? catch is crimped in. This image is of the badge upside-down, to show the 100 mark rightside-up.

The full back of this wound badge (100 is Rudolf Wächtler & Lange of Mittweida).

Yep. This is one spot this mark is sometimes found.
