    Black Wound Badge Maker?

    Hi All -

I posted this Black Wound Badge in a different thread and didn't get any results or feedback, so I thought I'd post it by itself and see if any of you could tell me who the maker is?

As you can see from the photo, it doesn't have the traditional "berries" or "dots," in the background field, but rather a smooth or leathery appearing field. It is a solid brass badge and the pin and catch assemblies are very similar to the 30 hallmarked Gold badges. It's an original badge, having come in a large 9th Inf. Division G&R vets horde in 1971, so my question isn't about originality, only maker. Any help and/or knowledge is very much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Gary

I know there's been other threads about WB's with this rough backing, as opposed to the normal "pebbles". But the pictures here aren't really good enough to help much.....

I too believe the originality of these WA without the 'dot' backround, the maker is unknown though.
Several makers using this kind of pin set-up and i don't think is safe for tell that is a '30' WB variation, i assume several sub costructed companies envolved in the construction or perhaps a cooperation between some manufacturers, who knows.
