Just kidding, you clearly see the use of a flashlight but I'm quite sure that I was holding a gold wb this morning. I do admit that the wash was very light in color, but the photo in post #1 is nearly the same like the real thing.
Finally, the tip of the catch is a bit different when comparing the badges. I don't think this is bad point, I think I found a good one ....
Cheers,

From my point of view I think that the badge it´s a silver wound badge.
Why?, because the yellow color it´s the age of the silver.
Here some picture of mine.
However if you look at mine, In the recesses, you will see that the color is deeper than in the higher pointsBut there is different levels of color through out which would be consistent with a wash or gilting wearing off the same with the back, why would there be such a odd looking patch just above the hinge, that looks more like a wear pattern than a patina or oxidization.
Don't get me wrong I still have this one listed as a silver badge till I am absolutly positive it's a GWB
Laurens I am sorry to hijack your thread. If people want to discous my badge, I have started a thread called "Could this be a worn out gold WB". I would appreciate it if you bring your thoughts there on my badge, I only posted mine here to show Laurens the similarities to his badge and thats when I noticed the colour after scanning it!
