First off, I do not know much about badges. Just not my area of collecting but I have picked them up over the years just to have representative examples. I bought this badge maybe 10 years ago. It does look like the other silver 92 marked badges I have seen in threads, although I have noticed the placement of the 92 can vary. I also remember reading on this site that the helmet should have a rear rivet? This one does not, but it seems that most the other 92 marked badges I have seen on the site do not either? The photos are not the best. They were taken a few years ago and my camera will only take detailed photos with the flash. The color is a bit off in the photos and the 92 mark is incised a little deeper than appears in the photos. After all that my question is a simple one, is it original?

I see no issues with this piece...nice looking too. Has everything you should find on an original.

Thanks to all for the replies. I was worried about the lack of a rear rivet on the helmet. Anyone know if the different locations of the maker mark (centered and off centered) indicates a different period of manufacture or were they produced during the same time period?
