Wow! So that L/53 is a Floch fake? I was not aware of that. I have seen these exact same L/53s in older discussion threads and they always seemed to get the stamp of approval. Are there any original L/53s in zinc or are all of them considered fakes? Pardon my ignorance here but I have never owned an L/53 wound badge.

Now let me see if I got this straight:

The fake L/53 uses the same obverse die that produced the Floch L/14 and L/63 fakes.

The fake L/53 has raised locator lines for the hinge and catchplate on the reverse while the original L/53 has no locator lines.

Please let me know if these statements are correct. Thanks once again. It is always good to learn something.

The last statement is incorrect Tom. There is one with the locator lines that is good as well but i can´t find an old thread here with one. The first one is correct though.
