Hello, i thought if i may, hit you experts with a question:

If you were awarded the gold wound badge for sustaining 5 wounds, then what would happen if you got more wounds after that? Would you get an iron cross grade, or maybe they should have introduced a "25 Class"

We'll lets look this another way - what's the most wounds that anyone has seen in a wehrpass/wehrstambuch? I had one a long time ago that listed 8 wounds/injuries under the medical section - long time sold on the WAF

I know of US soldiers getting multiple purple hearts for wounds received, perhaps the Wehrmacht
was along those lines too. Either way, if you received more than 5 wounds in an engagement I would consider my self pretty lucky to survive during a time of no triage and rare late war penicillin.

If someone awarded the GWB auto issued the EK2, if already was wearer of this award nothing further happened...

Thank you guys, interesting.....Like what wehrpasswilly said , if that guy got 8 wounds, i think that would deserve an EK1
