Does anyone know how many CUT OUT silver wound badges were made?

Hello all, i was wondering: Does anyone know how many CUT OUT silver wound badges were made in WW1? Thank you very much as it will aid in my research

I would venture to say the question may not get an answer, and if it does, it would have to be from manufacturers records. There were also transitional badges made post WW1 as replacement badges for those who earned them in WW1, during weimar, and TR periods. I am not sure how cut outs from both periods could be differentiated from one another, but most certainly I would assume would also count? It will be interesting to see what enlightening information turns up here on the subject. 9interesting question ) Does anybody know if there were any gold cut out badges ? So I assume , you want to know how many black, silver, and gold cut out versions were made for each type in WW1. right?

Cutout badges are private purchase items. Given the number of manufacturers I doubt anyone will ever know the answer.

Given the Wound Badges were only instituted very late in WW1 and accepted WW1 period badges tend to be in iron/steel, I would suggest that probably NO cut-out WBs were made during WW1 and they were all post-war private purchase.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

I can only agree with Mike. Imo there is no WW I made one outthere. They came afterwards for private purchase.
