I have never seen a hollow "silver" WB unless it was totally stripped of it's black paint, but it is definately covered with spots and patches of verdigris which means it, or at least the finish, has a decent nickle content (and it's not artifically applied), and since it does not have the reverse hardware for it to have been made by Assmann I think that maker can be ruled out too, so, bottom line is that this badge will have to be sorted out by truely knowledgeable WB collectors who know them inside and out.

A very small number of pressed silver badges were thought to be made by the firm of Schickle, which resulted in the loss of his LDO license. Some theories also suggest a few late war gold and silver badges being made from pressed badges (originally intended to be painted black). Again, because a pressed badge in silver or gold violated the terms of an LDO license it is speculated that these badges were either protoypes (made for consideration by the National Material Control Office - Reichzeugmeisterei) for issuing consideration or were made in a last ditch effort to fill contracts during the material shortages at war's end. If the later if true, then RZM obviously was no longer in control of manufacuring at war's end and firms were doing whatever they could to fill contracts and get paid.

There are many speculations and theories about why Schickle lost it´s license. Presenting proof to support them is harder though.
Both Silver and Gold hollows does exist but why and when is another matter.
Here is one that i haveAttached FilesRegards

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).
