    Criteria for wound badge

    Hi, Just wanted to know was the wound badge awarded for combat action or could it have been awarded for things such as training accidents as well ?

    The only other thing that I'm aware of is frostbite. I always thought it odd that it wasn't awarded for sunstroke (in North Africa for example) which in some cases can prove fatal.

      Hi , thanks for the reply, yes I would imagine frostbite would qualify , as it would normally be due to frontline service (or at least close to the front)
      good point about sunstroke.

      what about things such as training accidents, away from frontline service ?
      any opinions ?
