    Two GWB Opinions

    Hello all,
I've had these 2 GWB for years and used as loop fillers on a couple of tunics and was wondering if they were original or not. From having a browse through this section I think the one marked L/11 is a Deumer - am I correct (I am a paperwork collector so know zilch about the makers)?
No idea about the other one. So, can I have your opinions please.

            Hello,

Both look good to me. The first is (as you say) a later war badge in zinc by Wilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid. The second is an early tombak Gold Wound Badge by Hauptmünzamt Wien (the Vienna Central Mint).

            Best regards,
            Tom

Thanks for that Tom. I was so sure that the second one would be a dud!

Far from it! These early 30s were the nicest Gold Wound Badges made. A keeper for sure!

                Best regards,
                Tom

... and here is an unmarked 30 with a needle pin variation:

That's why I was so sure it was a dud - it just looks so 'new' (the front at least) and hasn't lost any of its shine. The L/11 looks and feels like I expected it to after 65+ years.
