    Gold Wound Badge, cased

Here's the cased gold wound badge on the new arrivals thread on the cross's forum.

Inside lid is the usual LDO stamp but with an L/13 mark too.

Any idea who the maker is?

    Allan

          Hello Allan,

'L/13' is the LDO Number of Paul Meybauer of Berlin. The badge however looks like an unmarked '30' which would have been made by the State Mint of Vienna.
          Best regards! Tom

It's got that 'one' of the 30 style hinges for a gold, but show a pic of the catch too Allan, it looks like it could be the 'square' one for a 30.( several variations exist depending date and metal)

Usual LDO box, unusual marking on the lid inner.........not to often encountered, I like these for some reason and the incuse maker marked boxes as well; both not so common, but this should not be reflected in the price at all.

Very mint looking WB, Chris V I'm sure will give you the low down.

            Kind regards,

            Marcus

Definitely a Hauptmunzampt badge and a super nice one. Now you need to find a flat pinned one to go with it. My absolute favourite type of early badge

                Hi,

I agree with the fellow friends, the award is a nice tombak unmarked '30'
The case is not match original with this WB but at least is looking original.
