Hi Guys,

I have here a nice Wound badge in black, being the brass type am I right to say it is an earlier war piece?

Is there any idea on a maker? also is this known as a 2nd type .

a Steinhauer & Lück IMO but the badge seems to be refinished which clearly can be seen on the helmets obverse.

A good one and imo not refinshed. Because of the problems with the brass amterial you can find a two layer black finish.

That's what we see here imo.

Non the less it refinished, even if it might be factory done. For the record nobody called it out as a bad one...
