Wound Badge Gold pick up - some 2nd opinions please. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Guys,

This WBG arrived recently. I would like some second opinions on it. WBG is unmarked. Two points of particular interest. The catch has a little stripe/scratch underneath it. The WBG has a line running on the side of it making it look like two parts are joined (see pics). Some or please. If please let me know what you do not like. Your help is much appreciated.

    Cheers, Willem

            Hi Willem,

I agree, 100% original and in nice worn condition.

The lines indented into the reverse of the badge (catch and, from memory, hinge too) were both guides for the hardware and to give the solder a bit more "grip".

The line around the edge is not a casting line in this case - it is the back half of the thick planchet which was sheared off and, in this case, has been hand finished to remove the shear marks.

            Regards
            Mike

Textbook example. And as the previous two posters have carefully worded their responses ... did not say that this is a WB by the maker 30. At this point, while similar, there are a couple of makers that made a very similar WB like this. One of which is the company 30 (H&W).
