I need some help making a determination on this badge and case.
It was requested that we take a better look at this case.
Is it from an EK?
I need more experts to help me out.

Re the case, if there's no cross (EK or KVK) outlined on the lid then the inclusion of a Wound Badge would be OK imo. It certainly looks like a nice genuine late war case to me, and the black case / white flocking combination is common for Gold Wound Badges.

Regarding the finish on the badge though, that is a bit more tenuous from the images provided, however imo the gold pin is a good indicator that the badge MAY have been gold originally. The location of the gold finish on the obverse seems a bit strange to me though - bright gold on some highpoints whereas all the remaining gilt has been worn/absorbed? Are there any traces of a gold finish on the sides (inner or outer) of the molded hinge. There may be a very weak yellowish grey toning to the badge on some of the images, but images can be deceiving and subtle toning is hard to accurately image. In some images it looks like there is a silver finish, but this might be light oxidisation. Too hard to be definitive on this type of zincer.

Mike,

The bit of gold I just highlighted in that last pic is the largest gold spot
on the badge. It is actually pretty sparkly in the light. I know what you mean
about the "yellowish" appearance on some silver WB,s.

There is a tiny bit of gold remaining at the hinge of the pin also.
