It came with this case, vacuum type with LDO logo on inside of lid. The base insert had the embossed 2598 D&B designation.

Can't open case fully to take a scan of inside..

      cheers

Case looks old, but i'm not sure about it, but the swb gives me some cause to be suspicious of it. I know they marked these in different areas, but the mark doesn't seem consistent with a 65, and the hinge and hook almost appeared soldered to the wb , as opposed to being cast into the badge. Just my take on it. I have maybe 5- 65 swbs, and none have a 6 or a 5 like that type on any of my 65 versions. . I also think the positioning of the catches etc are wrong..Lets see what the wb specialists think . I have some i can illustrate with, but probably won't be necessary. If they had that exact version of the 65 mark, i would like to see other period pieces , because all of mine have the hinges and hooks in the same position even if the marks are either center of the badge or lower above the hook. They have gotten so good at making these now, I think one must scrutinize them very closely before a final decision. I can also weigh the ones i have if need be..

I see no problems with the badge. Imo what looks like solder are remainings of the finish.
            Best regards, Andreas

I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

                  Hi Juoneen

Thanks for your input..If you have not seen this specific type try a search on "65 silver wound". This should show quite a few with this style of maker mark and the same cast set up (mine is a cast set up and not soldered).
                  Please post yours for comparison

Thanks guys for the positive comments.

Ronny, I guess It is always difficult to know If a badge and case have been matched up. However, I am pretty sure that this type of case is harder to find than this 65 badge.

                  cheers

                    Hi Graeme,

Didin't want to hijack your thread, so I posted mine here. It has IMO (but I'm a rookie in this field) some points in common with yours. I asked for some opinions too.

Nice WB Graeme and the case looks good, although is not match withthe WB ...

The 65 WB's hollow or solid issues can have some minor variatios between them like some different dots, other place of maker mark, more stylized maker mark, etc...
