Last Saturday, I purchased a large veteran's lot belonging to T/5 Winfried F. Fink of the Recon. Co. of the 67th Armored Regiment of the 2nd Infantry Division. Among the lot was a hollow-back "81" Silver Wound Badge. With this find, I would say that it is conclusive that Overhoff und Cie made these badges during the war (note there is no trace of any other paint under the silver paint, neither black or gold). I've been collecting for nearly forty years, have owned hundreds of wound badges, still own about sixty, and this is the first hollow-back "81" that I have encountered. For everyone's interest, I have included a photo of T/5 Winfried F. Fink (I also bought his uniform, dog tags, photos, and other miscellaneous items in the lot).
