BWB L/11 Deumer with Grossman Obverse?

    Hello All,

I recently acquired this BWB as part of a grouping and believe it is a good Deumer (faintly) marked 'L/11.' In conducting my research, I came across BWBs that were similarly marked, yet the comments were that the particular badge had a "Grossman Obverse." In comparing the "Grossman" versions to the "Deumer," I couldn't quite tell what the differences were.

Is this a Deumer marked/Deumer Obverse or a Deumer marked/Grossman Obverse BWB? If it is a Grossman Obverse, would someone kindly point out the key features that identify the differences?

    Thank you.

    Eric

      Hello Eric,

it´s a Grossmann in Deumer disguise. There were some kind of cooperation/link between these 2 makers that´s for shure, perhaps they used the same diemaker... The easiest feature to tell a Grossmann apart from a Deumer is the Berries close to the sword handles, this is a detail Deumer don´t have at all.

            Beautiful, Hans.

            Thank you!

Those berries are one of the features I have noticed, but, didn't know if they represented Deumer or Grossman (for instance, in this thread, Grossman was not mentioned: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ght=l%2F11+bwb)

Is the hardware definitely attributed to Deumer, or are those Grossman parts as well?

              Hi Eric,

the hardware is typical to a Deumer.
