    Has more rust than I would like, but it needed a home. The second 5 is faint.

        Nice badge. Sometimes I will use a damp soft cloth to carefully wipe off surface rust.

          yes, I did that lightly, might do it some more. Also put a light coat of WD-40 on it.

              hmm..did some research on using WD-40 in the forums and it seems to be fine. Why do you say no?

                Use water free vaseline instead
                Just a small amount and a very soft toothbrush

                BTW a nice and not so common badge

                  It can lift flaked paint not to mention leave an unnatural sheen. In other words, make your badge look like it has been cleaned and "fiddled with". As far as vaseline goes, only as a last resort on zincpest infestation. Regards, Ron.
