    L/56 bwb

    Hey guys,

My 1st of the new year Here is an L/56 BWB. This badge is quite thick compared to my other BWB's. One thing I noticed about this badge compared to other L/56s' is that the catch opens opposite. I inspected it carefully and it doesn't appear to be a repair as it looks like the others. The pin is marked with 116 underneath but I forgot to take a photo.

Can anyone tell me why the paint looks like that?

It's not necessary to be overpainted postwar, i have and my self a Mayer's example who is in stone mint on the front and worn on the backside, in my case i'm sure the paint is original i'm not sure in yours though...
Do the smell test if is applied some kind of enamel...
Besides this maker is very easy to find his hollow issues with or without the bonus of the 116 pin mark...
