award was found in this sondition like on photo - and IMHO there is no postwar modifications

Pics are not the best so all I can say is that the pin and catch are not "textbook" and MAY have been replaced as suggested.

Hardware looks replaced to me. You can see the footprint of the original hardware. Wartime or postwar I cannot tell. I thought about sending a PM on this badge but was turned off by the reverse of the badge. Some nice clear photos would help further this discussion

IMO the setup is replaced, but still a nice looking badge

Looking at the new pics, imo the catch and main pin have definitely been replaced. The hinge has a messy base and may also have been repaired/replaced.

It still has a nice obverse and desirably located maker mark!

I agree also for a replacement hardware set up, intresting though the color is typical by this maker but more 'solid' on this one...still collectable WB

In one of the pics it looks to me, that the pressure foot of the pin does not sit where there is a pressure foot marking on the badge, indicating a pin replacement.

                    cheers

Here is a normal setup for a L/17 badge
Note the pin is not round

Sorry for the bad light in my picture

                      Cheers,
                      Ronny
