Tombac BWB - Ideas on Maker Please

    Hi Guys

Wound badges are not my area but I recently acquired this badge from the e-stand to fill a gap in the awards of a Luftwaffe pilot. His award was for 1940 so I hope this is an early badge that lines up with this date. I would really appreciate any information you could give me on possible maker and date of manufacture.

    Thanks for any help
    Best wishes
    Tim O.

IMO it looks like an S&L one, nice badge by the way.

I agree with Ronny, very early type with the short helmet like LC...uknown maker.

                    I have a question,

Was it common on early badges that the helmet rivet in the back was missing and that the rim was so low?

I am not saying the one shown is fake but I did see these very characteristics on fakes before. Could also be that the copies I saw were meant to resemble the early version?

Of course is not fake, is a variation in design close in some points to "Spanish" design and i assume it is a very erly 1939 type of uknown maker and good quality overall, even the paint was applied after a thin coat before the finishing process.... I have a clue who the maker might be but i haven't confirmed yet...

The fakers must have something for production....

I like it also, doesnt appear to be bogus at all. Nice wear. No idea what the maker could be although. Its clear this guy wore this for some time in actual combat. Hope someone knows for sure who made it. I really dont think you have anything to worry about.
