Hi. The one on the left is suspect in some circles. I have a black and a silver in this style. Both thin and lightweight and non-magnetic. Is yours magnetic? I personally like them and I like the looks of yours. See if other people weigh in. The other is a a common style that I have no problem with. Hope I helped. Ron.

From what i can see the left one (a so called type V) is a good one but there are very good fakes with the same design with several different set ups.

With imperial wound badges you can find about five differnt
helmet types.As Hans has stated one on left is a type five.
A bit more rarer than the others and more faked...I my self
am not sure about your type five...But that is only my opinion
I am going to pst a picture of the five types that I got
from member Ronny.

I am afraid that these designated helmet types are some what out of date these days and can only be used in a general terms like with vehicles (station wagon, SUV, Pickup truck etc ect) Within these Hamelmann way of categorizing in types there are in some cases several today known makers.

Compare the so called Type V that started this thread with the one that Don posted (which i beleave is owned by Ronny) and you´ll immediately will notice that there is a difference between the 2. Ronnys is most likely a Godet while the other is a unknown maker.

The type 1 on Don´s pic is a typical Schickle design.
