    Denazified SWB

Hi guys recent pick up, maker mark 4 on the pin, a little bent out of shape from the swastika removal I think. The back looks like it has taken a few knocks aswell. Is it a good one?

The state of the back concerns me a bit. I think it's original, but the marks on the rear almost look like casting marks.

      Is it zinc or tombak?

I think its a tombak Mike, the back concerns me a little as well. In hand it looks like the pressure thats has been applied on the swas to remove it has effected the back. It has been bent in the middle slightly, where the pressure has been applied as well.

        regards Adam

I've been looking at a couple other tombak S & L's, they also have some strange marking effects on the rear. I think this one is OK.

Adam - as yet there are no really good WB reference books, but there are a couple of very good reference forums , also I have a rather large photo library of WBs

Hope your finals went OK. Now they're over it's time to celebrate

The award is not tombak but a zinker one and the marks are indeed from the denazification...
