Black Wound Badge 1918, No Mark

Hi all. I'm usually hanging out in the DDR section of the site, but I received a Black 1918 Wound Badge as a part of a estate lot of US Military Insignia last week. Other than East German insignia my knowledge in limited on German insignia for other eras.

I've done a bit of research on it, including this thread Sebastian Bianchi's pages on the Wound badge here. My first thought is that it was a skillful reproduction since it looks almost pristine. But since these were made from 1918 to the early 1940s I guess it's possible that it is original.

I'm curious to know if it is an original or reproduction and if it has any value. Your comments would be most appreciated.

    Thanks much!

Ron, Thanks much. How interesting, it's in such good condition, it looks like it was made yesterday.
