    Hello Hans

Yes I know what you mean, and as I wrote before I might be wrong
But for me the whole impression about the badge is …..
Quite week details and IMO week setup. Maybe the pictures don’t do
The badge justice, but I still have my doubts.

And as you know the imperial ray back pilot badges are heavily faked too
But what badge isn’t faked these days

Would be nice see some more opinions

Here you go Ron my silver badge

    Cheers,
    Ronny

Personally I have no problems with the first example - it looks like a well worn and hard to find original.

As for raybacks in general, Meyabuer and Sedlatzek are two maker markings I've seen on genuine examples, along with "silber" and "*" markings.

Ronny's example has a KM style catch lock, however I have seen these catch locks jeweller applied to other items (including a common KO EK1). The one thing on Ronny's example I do not recall (but I haven't checked my 800s for a while) is the subdued pebbling! An interesting variation.

          Regards
          Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

            Happy Holidays:

I agree with Mike on this one. I have seen a Meybauer rayback example (as a matter of fact my photo files of the Meybauer say Mike K. on them). Perhaps he will post his badge, as it has design and setup differences compared to the one that started this post.

I have also seen a Sedlatzek rayback with the marking 800 Sedlatzek Berlin on the pin. This marking differs from the Friedr. Sedlatzek Berlin pin marks I have on my EKs and regular Imperial SWBs.

There are rayback examples similar to the one which started this thread with both silber and silber 800 marked to the pin. I have photo files of both types.

My example has the silber marking to the pin. I have owned it for quite a few years, and have never found fault with it. It is marked on the reverse with the owner's name and unit.

I'm experiencing difficulty posting the images I wanted to include in this thread. Any ideas as to what is going on? They fail to upload, yet the images are within the guideslines listed for jpg images......and yes.....I paid my dues.

                  Hi Dennis,

it´s most likely due to the software update that´s been done to the forum.

I must say that it´s crappy when the mods don´t even bother to inform the members of the forum in each section about the upgrading etc... I mean how hard can it be for Admins to inform the mods who informs the members... and that´s not to mutch to ask either.
                  Regards
                  Hans N

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Thanks for the information Hans, I appreciate the update.

I'll try to post those images....and if it doesn't take, I'll try again tomorrow.

                    Dennis

I'm afraid it is still a no go.

The WAF software update appears to be completed, and I'm now able to post the images I was hoping to add.
