Help needed with Silver Wound Badge

I have just acquired this wound badge, which I believe is silver, but it sems to have developed a very dark patination. There is some sort of mark on the pin, but I do not think it is a Maker's Mark. I am wondering if it is a genuine badge or not. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached some pictures.

The mark on the pin is a maker mark and it is a 4 for Steinhauer & Lück
And yes your badge is an original one.
