Based on the finnish on the reverse - specifically the gold paint flicks around the top of the badge near the hinge - it looks like a silver that has had the front painted gold.

it might look strange on the photo but hinge and catch are from the same gold paint.

Bockerer, do you own the WB? If so have you tried the acetone test on the front - does any paint come off?
