    BWB "FLAW" Question

Has anyone noticed the bump on the rear (front of badge) of the helmet on BWB's, it shows on the front and rear, of course on the reverse it's a dent.

I have looked at all my wound badges today and been looking at pictures on here for a hour or so and every badge seems to have this
"flaw" The only badge I have that does not have the flaw is a SWB maker 92

Is this just a flaw? or something used for painting or metal plating?

Sorry but I'm not quite sure what you mean, can you post a picture highlighting the "bump"?

Here is a pic I found of a polished wound badge with the arrows pointing to what I am talking about.

Kinda of hard to see in these pics, you may have to copy to desktop and zoom in...

Aha, right you mean the nick on the right of the helmet. This is not a "flaw", it's part and parcel of the WB - why it is there I have no idea.

I'm just surprised to see it on so many, it is even on the little stick pin.

As for it being flaw I was just using that as a reference word, I would just mainly like to know why it is there.

One of these repro's in the link below it is present, the other it isn't

It sounds to me like your meaning the rivet on the back of the helmet which is present on a real german helmet from WWII.
                    Regards

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Hans is correct...It represents the rivets that hold the liner in place on a real german helmet.
