    Beautiful New Tomback Silver

Just got this beautiful silver wound badge in tomback. It's unmarked as many of these early, quality pieces are. These are some of my favorite wound badges. The way they age gives them a great look. I think they are real gems and I try and pick them up whenever I can. They have a nice heft compared to the zinc versions. Does anyone know who the maker may be here?

        Hi Steve:

Your new silver wound badge is looking good. These really are hard to resist just because of that early heavy quality. Each one seems to have a unique character depending on the amount of wear the badge has taken on.

Because of the larger cap to the hinge pin on yours, it may be an unmarked 30. The Haupmunzamt badges tend to have larger hinge pin tops than some of the other unmarked examples.

Here are a couple of mine which I feel are similar to your own.

Another one.....again the difference in wear on these makes each one special. Of course I am diseased when it comes to these badges.

Very nice Steve. Gotta love the traces of copper / tombak showing through on the finish
