    Help with SWB's

    Evening Gents,

I have a couple of SWB's in my collection which I'm trying to identify, as regards to a possible maker. Both badges are identical with the exception of catch plates, one being rectangular the other being round.

I have done many searches but have yet to come up with anything exact , by way of a description; Both weigh in at between 25/26gms and are 44 x 36mm also what makes these badge distinctive (at least to me) is the feel of depth each has.
The outer edge is reletively thin, each has a thickness just shy of 3mm, where the centre is from reverse to the top of the swastica 5mm on one and 4.85mm on the other, along with the fact that the berries are very promenant and the swords are well detailed. This IMO gives each badge a nice depth and a kind of 3D effect (for want of a better term).
If anyone can help with a possible maker or a link to were this type of badge has been discussed, or any ideas at all I would be very much obliged.

    Many Thanks,
    Dan.

I've not encountered either of these setups. As a stab in the dark, the 2nd one does have some similarities to Carl Wild SWBs.

These hardware set up are not common on WBs, i have seen in other decorations like IAB and i don't know if ithis is correct to attribute them.

                    Hi Chris,
Thanks for comments, you're right this type of set does seem to belong more to other combat badges rather than WB's. Here's an S&H GAB I have in my collection which has a very similar set up.

However Mike maybe on the right track with Carl Wild as they produced the small hinged WB variant. Perhaps we'll just have to wait until another turns up on the forum.

                      Regards,
                      Dan.

                        Hello Dan,

does the second SWB´s catch look like this one?

                        Regards
                        Hans N

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Dan, as per my pm - due to my accident this is the best pic of the Carl Poellath BWB i can do at the moment.
