    Views on this Gold WB

Hi, can I please have a thumbs up or down on this unmarked wound badge. Guy's asking £115 for it?
Please give the link about 10min's as it may not load straight away.
    Thanks
    Dave

    Dave,

If this http://www.colonelsmilitaria.co.uk/s...ph=1363&phqu=4 is the GWB you are referring to, then I would pass on it - you can get better condition GWBs for a better price. I'm also not convinced as to it's originality - the roundy swaz?

        Dave,

Please don't get me wrong - the GWB might be original - other comments on this from WB addicts would be appreciated.

          Thanks for the link mike
I for one think it is ok.But as mike stated a nicer one is sure out there.
Note.....If you are a collector that is looking for one or two golds or
silvers for your collection, one might think of getting a marked one.
I would also try and stick to some main makers such as 30.65.107,100.I would realy target in on the king Tombak 30 bar pin or
the flatpin or even the needle.

            Thanks Guys,
I only really wanted one of each for my collection as I mainly like to collect Kreigs badges.
Will do as you say and look elsewhere for a marked one.
            Thanks again.

Personally, based on the finish and the not so great obverse detailing, I am highly suspicious of this one. "Not for my collection".

                Guys,
for my money I'd say it's OK, it looks like a good (but worn) L/50

Neil, having done some comparisons with known good Gebruder Godet & Co GWBs - I think you have a point - the similarities are very striking (especially the swaz). My opinion on the originality is now a - but it's still a lot of money for a GWB in the condition it's in.

                    Mike,
the price does seem a bit steep . I'd be prepared to pay £115 (or more) for a good marked up wide pin 30, but I'd be thinking twice about spending that on this example -even if I do think it's a 'good-un'

                    Cheers,

                    Neil

Thanks for pointing out a posible maker Like I said lads,if you are looking for one or two for your collection save the money and get
a nice marked one from the well known makers If your ever
wish to get rid of it, is much easer to sell .My opinion anyways
