    Solid Back BLACK Wound badge....

Has anyone here ever seen a solid back Black wound badge?
I thought its weird how all of the BWB are hollow back and no solid back. Have you ever seen one or heard of one?
    Thanks ALLOT!!!

Tyler, there ain't no such animal. These were very common awards so there was no point in increasing cost of production by making them solid-backed. The reverse is supposedly true, where at the end of war they would coat hollow-back black badges with silver or gold paint and award them as those grades (they were kinda busy with other things back then... )

Vadim is right, but you can find time to time 'bizzarre' and uncommon WB's, ie: zink hollow WB's instead of steel or brass etc.
Then why not a solid black WB?

So here one SOLID black WB from my collection, i know and perhaps someone painted black postwar but on the other hand why not painted silver or better gold to increase the value?

An interesting badge... Who knows what this is really though, the paint looks very much like it was applied post-war.

Thanks Pieter for your comments, i thought i was only me believing on them

Two examples i have seen so far, 'mine' and another one same as mine made of feinzink, the typical late war production w/o the maker marks.
