I'm yet to find a really good printed reference for WB's - there is the Hammelmann (I think that was his name) book, but that is hard to get hold of. There are a couple of members of the GCA forum working on a book - it might be worth your while asking there.

As for on-line references, there's obviously here and I would also recommend the GCA forum - http://www.germancombatawards.com. If your looking for Wound awards of all nations, then the GMIC forum is quite good http://www.gmic.co.uk.
