I believe that the Gold Wound Badge you are enquiring about, MM30 is original. I was going to buy it and asked Chris' opinion, hence how I can give you my opinion.

            Leeb,

Can you post pictures of your badge you said that is fake?

As for Mr.Cross Gold WB it's ok and it's fair priced for Gold WB but on the other hand it is in heavy worn condition and from my PERSONAL point of view it's not a treasure to get.

                Good Day
Why does the badge from Mr Cross's
site seem to have a copper finish.

Don: My guess is that it's just a matter of lighting conditions when photographing.
Leeb: Jamie's badge is a nicely worn (if you like those) zinker, but my tip is to wait until you can lay your hands on a tombak Hauptmüntzamt (Vienna)-made golden wound badge (unmarked or "30"-marked)...! Wow! They are, IMO, the "Junckers" of wound badges, silver as well as gold grade. Detlev has these for sale from time to time.
                  Good luck hunting!
                  /Mike

                    Hi Guys,

                    -Leeb,

I looked at your badge as you said and i found it ok, late war production with cast in hinge and catch and in much better condition than Mr. Cross badge, i would like to know why you said that is fake, although i need more clear pic's of your badge to have better opinion because these pic's you posted are dull.

Mike is right, if you want for your collection a couple of gold WB's try to find the early tombak '30s' by Hauptmüntzamt Wien. Far the most desirable maker for this award but if WB's is one of your passion in collecting - like me - and you want to add several of them in your collection then there are many more to choose
