    BWB -Maker Identification?

    Hi,
can anyone help me ? I have two BWB's that I can't identify the makers of. The first is a Brass one that I've just purchased from E-Stand. It's a nice badge with wear in the right places and it's got very clear detail, but no makers mark. The main identifying characteristic (so far) is the fact that the end of the RH sword hilt sits right on the edge of the first middle leaf (from the bow). I've been through my files and can't find any badges that fit this characteristic. Has anyone got any BWB's that have this same feature ?

      Simon,
you're right, no rivet at the back of the helmet. how did I miss that . It looks like we've got two badges from a common maker . Do you know who made yours?
The second badge that I'm trying to identify is a Steel badge with exactly the same characteristics (RH Sword hilt on the edge of the lower RH leaf, no rivet on the back of the helmet, and pronounced stems on the leaves). This second badge is unissued and came in a mint S&L packet. I was sure that the badge was S&L until recently. The pin and hinge are OK for S&L, but the characteristics aren't the same.

      Cheers,

      Neil

Niel sorry I dont know who the maker is I have been trying to find out for myself .

Also the pin hinge retainer/rivet is fitted from the left where as most of the others I have looked at seem to enter from the right
        regards Simon .

            It looks like there's another BWB from this maker on E-Stand at the moment;

So, we're looking for the maker of BWB's which have the RH Sword hilt touching the edge of the lower laurel leaf, no rear helmet rivet and a hinge pin that has its head on the left. -Any offers?

                    Neil,

Your WB is good with character but the maker is unknown.

I don't know why but something tells me that could be a maker from range 113 to 130.

                      Thanks Chris,
I'll try to i/d it by elimination, but I was hoping that someone would have done the work already . I'll start narrowing the field and post a proposal when I get there

Hey, I think I may have identified the maker of my BWB (the one without a rivet at the rear of the helmet) . There's a Carl Poellath (#84) packet with a BWB for sale by munster on e-stand.

                        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=242444

It's been sold so I was too late to pick it up , but a close look at the badge shows there's no rivet and that the RH sword hilt is touching the edge of the leaf. Of course, the badge could be mismatched with the packet. Can the buyer (or Munster) confirm this and does anyone else have a positively identified #84 BWB?
