Finally i got my little precious!

Hi guys,

Well recently i got a nice group comes from his family (thanks to Herr Baldes), one item of this group was a packeted black WB with the firm of Hauptmunzamt Wien!
We know that this maker is a major manufacturer for these awards with nice quality, is not a secret that i like the WB's and always i was wondering where are the Black WB's from this maker? 15 years of collecting i wasn't able to find one marked and i assumed maybe he didn't produce hollow issues or the Black WB's from this maker are unmarked .
The badge is unmarked brass made and very well defined in mint condition, could be the best black WB i have ever seen.

Many collectors don't pay attention on such common items, but I do like these common groupings besides i'm not hunting high-end items and i'll never do.

The two doc's for his WB's.

Interesting that issued both for one wound received in the same day and awarded to him in separate days.

According to his Wehrpass:
He received TWO wounds at 28/10/42 in his lower leg and his elbow at Caucasus region in Russland.

The award entry in his Wehrpass is for the silver WB at 26/1/43

He got the black WB by the firm of Hauptmunzamt Wien
and the silver WB by the same maker stamped on the back with the needle pin variation.

Both the badges are never worn by him but are HIS awards.

Some feedback to him:

He join the army as recruit at the age of 18. He trained in a school for MG guns and was operator on a s.MG 34 he took his combat training in a couple of Ers. Btl.'s then transfered in Geb.Jag. Regt.13 in the 14(MG) Company of the 4th Gebirgsjager Division. About three months he had service with this regiment until he received 2 wounds when his regiment marched into the Caucasus. He finally didn't make it and he die from his wounds at 3/3/43 in the Field Hospital (4/684).

One other interesting thing,

I do have one other small document group, this guy received one wound and they treat his wound in the same Hospital three months later. He received a black WB maker marked '65' this time.

Chris, what do you make of this badge? I've had it for a couple years, and it is so perfect (not a scratch) that I have always suspected it.

"clean as a whistle"

Not a scratch. The brass showing through the paint on the pin around the catch is such that it looks like it was caused when the maker clamped it shut the first time, and it has never been touched since.
