I see no reason that this badge should be discussed. To me it looks like a good original.

Hi,

The badge is a genuine later war zincer. The case is imo a genuine later war example for the same maker. Probably a matched set. The only remotely possible question I could raise would be whether the gold finish is original or re-finished. Hard to be definitive on that point from pics though. Not really much to suggest it could have been re-finished though.

OK,
there are known 30 fakes and my first impression of the badge was that the detail is indistinct and the line across the helmet is too pronounced, both are (to me anyway) suspect, particularly on a late war 30's.
In this case it looks like I was wrong, just thought it desrved some discussion.
