    65 Black Wound Badge Family

    Hello all.

I was pleased today to receive another member of my 65 K&Q black wound badge family.

I'm fond of them all, including my first ...... a non integral setup 65.

I was thrilled when I finally got a triple marked KuQ 65 42 black wound badge, along with a 65 marked stickpin to boot!

Thinking I had all of the 65 BWB variations, I was elated........until one of our members (I don't remember who) posted a "double 65 marked" BWB. I don't know if they labeled it as such, or if I only saw two marks.

I saw that badge and KNEW I'd never have the complete family.

Well I've been patiently waiting for what arrived in the mail today.

A TRIPLE 65 marked black wound badge!

That third 65 mark is centered and in between the sword blades.

When I received the badge today, I checked my badge against the "double marked" one in my photo files belonging to Bruce Simcox, and discovered IT is triple marked too.

I know......cheap thrills over "lowly" wound badges. I do enjoy the heck out of trying to keep track of all the variations though.

                    Thanks for taking a look.

                      "65" family

Great looking family!! I'm starting to enjoy collecting wound badges as much as EKII's!! I am still looking for the integral setup, and triple marked "65" badges. Out of curiosity, how many black wound badges do you have? I have the following:
                      100, 65, 4 (in mail), 107, L/11, 3, 88.
I'm a bit confused. Isn't their another variation with two "65" markings and a "42"?? I've been told the "42" is for 1942.
                      I can't help myself, I'll post my "65" again!!
I have a "4" coming in the mail so be ready for some pics!!
I'm still thrilled about my "100" I purchased at the JAG show.

Here is another one! A little blurry but this one hasn't been posted.
I prefer my BWB's to show age and have some of the paint off.
However, I don't feel this way about silver and gold WB's.

                              Guys

After seeing this thread, I decided to post my 65. Same hinge and catch, but marked in a slightly different location. I also see a slight indentation near the helmet from the 65 stamping. That seems common to all the ones that I could make out. Dennis and Nate nice wound badges I also get cheap thrills from wound badges, they are fun to collect.
