    Gold Wound - maker 127

    Hi Guys

Dennis asked me to post this badge because he felt this maker, with a soldered hinge and catch as opposed to the cast in set up, was not deemed as an acceptable variant.
I think Frank H once told me it was ok, but opinions do change, so lets get your views please..

Sorry, pics are not the best. I do not have scans, these are the pics I took a while ago. If you would like further scans I will do some over the weekend.

    best regards
    Graeme

          Graeme:

Thanks for taking the time to post your gold wound badge.

I am genuinely curious to hear what some of the members have to say about this type of 127 marked massive wound badge, as one sees these from time to time. I am hoping Frank H. sees this thread and comments as well.

I attempted to use the SEARCH function to backtrack and check to see where I had developed the impression (from prior threads) that this type of 127 was not deemed acceptable. Mine is currently disfunctional, perhaps tied into some of the WAF networking problems of the last few days.

The manner in which these badges are constructed seems first rate and consistent with what is seen on early wound badges from other makers, both in the style of hinge and catch being used.

The raised maker's marks on both the block hinge and cast setup examples look consistent (I'll work up a photo comparison on these in a minute).

Please share your thoughts, and thanks for taking the time to respond.

          Dennis

I personally don't see any glaring.....ah ha....differences here, and it seems very reasonable to assume that an early production tombak badge would not be out of the realm of posibility either.

Share your thoughts....I'm ready for a good B-slapping here .

                      Hello GraemeS,

                      Interesting badge you have.
Any chance for some more pictures of the catch.
                      Maybe some thing like this.
I also would like a sharp picture of the front.

                      Cheers,
                      Ronny

I will get some scans as soon as possible, probably can't get the catch shot (my son has the camera..well it is his)

                        regards

Can I assume everyone else is experiencing the same difficulty with the SEARCH function?

better shots as promised. The catch looks EXACTLY like the catch you showed.

                            regards
