    L/11 and unmarked BWB

Hi all, I am packing up my collection and figured I would post some wound badges. Nothing crazy, this L/11 doesn't seem to come up too often so I figured I would post it to see what the experts think of it.

A nice unmarked bwb in steel. Any ideas on the maker?

          Greg,
I know that the hinge of your L/11 has been discussed several times here in the forums and we always seem to get a 50/50 view. I have seen the Black WB L/11 with two other variants of the hinge and pin set up that I prefer over this one.

As for your unmarked BWB, I believe it is a L22 Glaser & Sohne. By the way, one of my favorite makers. It has the extra berries near the sword hilt and the double rap on the center of the bow. Also the top berries are miss aligned. Those are some of the identifying features to the L22 Glaser & Sohne.

            Hello Greg,

The first badge is considered to be a fake
The second badge is IMO a unmarked L22

            Cheers,
            Ronny

Ronny and Thomas thank you for that very quick ID on the L22 now I can update the file name .

As for the suspicious L/11 I am now thoroughly confused. I though the fake was the badge that sported the L22 obverse with a similair hinge to mine and different catch. And mine was the one considered good. Here is one relevant thread http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ck+Wound+Badge

The L22 based fake is in post 2 of this thread http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ck+Wound+Badge .

I know this hinge can be found on a few other TR badges and crosses, is it the obverse design that ID's it as no good? Not stirring trouble just genuinely interested, as wound badges are something I collect but I am not as up on them as I should be.

                Hi Greg:

I would agree with everything the guys have said so far. You have a great looking NM L22 BWB there.

My understanding is also that the L/11 BWBs with that setup are considered to be reproductions (there are a whole lot out there too). There is another L/11 Fake running around with yet another setup variation.

I post some images that underscore my current understanding on the L/11 BWBs.

                1st up....Brass L/11 with block hinge.

Based on current thought, a reproduction showing a similar hinge as yours.

                            Dear Greg,

I like very much your unmarked L22 WB

About your L/11, you are right that similar hinge type can be found on some genuine awards like KVK etc, but this doesn't mean that this WB is good.
This hardware setup is quite often used by repros and this badge is not for my collection.

The examples #8,9,10 who posted by the comrade Dennis are the sure originals.
