      Steve, yes you are correct. Your badge and Scott's (Herc1) have the same characteristics. Look at the top pattern of the berries, the Bow with elongated ribbon tails, Sharp corners on the sword hilts, and the pin and hinge set up.

      So this could be one maker design....

            Thanks for posting the pics Adrian!

            The one with black paint is missing its hook and the pin for the hinge has been replaced with a piece of wire. A bit "salty" and rough but I like it a lot. I belive its made of tombak/buntmetall and its very light weight.

            The one that is denazifed is also black, it has some traces of black paint under the helmet. It was probably polished in the same fashion that we can see on black woundbadges in brass with the 1939 pattern. I guess this is what sometimes is referred to as a "beater" when it comes to denazification. The helmet is a bit flat and has a crack under the rim from the rough treatment it got back then.
