Strange imperial semi stamped wound badge

    Hi all

Can anyone tell me something about this wound badge? It struck me as very unusual as the badge is struck in like a semi stamped fashion. Is it a known variation?

    Thanks
    Rich

    Hello Rich,

i have never seen that feature before on a Imperial WB. Interesting piece to say the least!

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Thanks for the replies. What are your initial thoughts on it being an original piece?

                Rich,
I would have bought it myself if I had seen it at a show for a good price as it looks period to me. Not sure I would have done so based on just photos as I’m not the best at that, but glad it has worked out for you. Looking forward to more photos once you get it in hand so the WB collectors here can start looking for clues about possible makers.

                    Rich,
My gut says the same but I’m no expert. Maybe someone here will recognize the hardware. Thanks for posting the new photos.

It is real IMHO, I have had one like this, they just did a "mushy" - soft reverse, in hand a no brainer original.

I think it is right as rain. I would like to have it in my wound badge collection.

Perhaps the same maker as this one
