Authentication Help and LDO confirmation

Hi

I recently purchased both these. One was sold as an L/11 and the other as unknown.

I think the unknown is L/52 and the one that was listed as L/11 looks like L/53. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Common mistake to misread the L/53 makers mark

Agreed. The last digit is not really clear on them. My son thought it was an 8 on both of them. Having compared it with other L/52 & L/53 i figured i was right about 1 of them at least even though both looked similar with the box around the digits.
Even under a loupe it was confusing. I guess over time you learn to read them with other things apart from the LDO becoming clear indication markers of each maker. Is there any books out there that can help me identify them better? Thanks.
