    Cased wound badge in silver

    Hi fellow collectors.

What do you think about this cased wound badge in Silver? I think about buying it. Maker is L/11

Looks good to me, hinge and pin match the black L/11 WB that I have.

Interesting tombak WB, i don't think that i have seen before this kind of catch (the way is soldered) for this maker.

Chris, I think the badge is actually made of zinc. Here's one that I have.

            Hi Volkbert,

I'm with Eric, it looks like a nice zinc example in a nice case. I hope you get it for a good price.

Yes could be zink, but i still believe from the photo that is tombak.

Volbert, can you tell us the materials of your badge?

Here one tombak Silver WB, very heavy and thick badge, little unusall for this maker.

                    Hi Chris,

Volkbert's badge clearly has a round catch plate (and roundwire catch, the same as Eric's zinc example), which are normally encountered on zinc badges. The darkening to the finish on the reverse right hand side of the badge is also makes the badge look like a zinc example.

                      Hi guys,

I can't give any information about this badge because I didn't buy it and te dealer sold it in the meantime. The reason I didn't buy it is because I decided that I like a dark red case better. So I wait till I see a nice silver wb in a red case.
