      Mark,
This one looks ok, but I am wondering if someone has replaced the hinge pin as well as the vertical fastening pin? They should be painted the same as the rest of the badge. Normal wear is one thing, but the two pins appear absolutely devoid of any paint

        Hi IQ

We are on the Imperial now I guess, I think you are correct, looks like its a repaired/replaced pin, not that unusual I would think but would detract slightly if I were to sell it on.

        thanks again

        regards

Yes, sorry. I was referring to the Imp. WB. It may very well be a period replacement, no real detraction, but may be difficult to move as there are so many around in excellent condition.

            Right again IQ

I was offered 12 of these in really good shape back in April, couldnt justify taking them into stock as they are not exactly quick out the door.

            regards

I have a "soft spot" for WB's of both wars because of what they represent, and not for the actual badge (although they are attractive in their simple design). I currently have over 30 gold, silver, and black from both wars.

                Hi Mark,

The 'L57' still is questionable to me, sorry who haven't change my opinion and the photos didn't help me much.

The Imperial is looking good but it is not necessary for the pin to be a replacement because of luck of the finish.

PS: Nice to hear Steven that you collection of your WBs growing, welcome to the WB 'world'

Without your help, and instruction I would not have progressed this far so quickly.

                      Hi Mark,

Post a close up of the maker mark, 3D view of the hinge and catch if possible and the most important as much possible clear and not blur photos.

                              Mark,

The catch has been resoldered? I think i saw some scortch marks around it.

Sorry to say but it's still a questionable badge to me.

but if you have got it for a good price, there are no problems because there are collectors
