What are y'alls opinions on this stamped silver wound badge maker marked 81 on the reverse. I've never seen a catch like this before. All opinions are appreciated.

It is an integral hinge and catch, found on a number of makers late war examples.

Indeed a nice original integral catch and hinge. Amongst others also found on badges by Alois Rettenmaier. I just received a Rettenmaier marked "16" in the helmet yesterday, and the set up is practically the same as on your badge.
The badge you have there itself is still a piece of conversation, nonetheless it is a nice badge!
