      Hi Hans,

Well spotted, thanks for showing this fake. Good to see some dealers selling it as a fake and marking it correctly.

How can we tell a "low rim fake" from just pics?

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

        Hi Tom,

For me it´s enough to see the obverse design and the alarm bells goes off. There are no flaws or anything like that to look for unfortunatly.

          Hello

Nice to see a dealer selling a fake as a fake.
And not making up stories as Vet finds or Direkt aus Trägerfamilie! 🙄

Is there more than one of these badge for sale on the website?
Maybe they know who made the low rim fake. 🤔

            Hi Rasmus,

at first i was thinking along the same line but this is an "old" variant of the Low Rim and there where no more that i could see.

              Hi Hans,

I noticed the listing on MC4U before but it never came up to me to make a thread about it. I believe he also sells some fake Silver wound badges.

A low-rim fake can be spotted by the low rim in combination with the missing rear rivet of the helmet. There are many different setups found on this fake badge.

Also a nice thing to know how to spot a Low-rim fake is a certain detail in the pebbled background on the right side of badge.
The 2 dots are 'connected' together.

                Hi Marco,

i haven´t studied the different "Low Rim" variants enough to been able to "connect" the dots so to say. In general i try to memorize the designs and if needed i go to my files.
