    Hi Everyone

Would appriciate your opinoins on this classic. I find them extremly difficult to jugde but needle looks old/good + overall apearence. This is made of buntmetall.

    Thanks

The pin appears to be set low - - however - in my opinion a genuine piece.

I'm no expert on these badges but for what it's worth,..

Here is mine, subtley different to yours but both look good to me.

        Cheers,
        David.

At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

Dave's is a textbook stamped example. Thomas, IMO the one you pictured is not original. Originals have better details to the oakleaves, and generally the S of SA is located just above the R of Treffen.

                Erich,

Thank you for your contribution and I understand what you say here. However, I have identified five "variants" of this particular badge - there may well be more - and I believe Thomas's example to be ok. I am guessing that it is very light and made from thin pressed tin. There are clear differences between all the types I have identifed and the only fakes I have seen (two) are quite obviously copies.

Anyway - - it is after-all only my opinion. I am happy to acknowledge when I am wrong.

In Mickey Huffmans Book on Political Awards, He is pretty cut and dry on the B type Badge. He states there are more fakes of this Award then other like Awards. I'm still looking for one that I can be satisfied with.

                    Erich,

Please can you post the full title & ISBN number for this book, I seem to have missed this one.

For what it's worth lads, I wouldn't want this one in my collection either.

                    Cheers
                    Don

                      Don,

Hoffman comes in two volumes - - but I only ever seen Volume 1 - - - it is one of those privately published American books - - - about 15 years old now and a collectors item in its own right.

It also covers the Blood Order and the GP Badge.

Best regards and thanks to all who contributed - - I have learned much.

                      Dan

Don, Sorry to say it's out of print. The title is: Hitlers Favorite Political Awards. It covers the BO,GPB,Coburg, 29 RPT and 31 Treffen Badge. Check the net because at times it becomes available.

                              Hello again

Sorry it took so long As I see it there are and on this badge this badge and I admit that these are very difficult. I think the badge in question is just another variant - I know this isn't proof of any thing but Weitze has the one and very same badge for sale (please see photos below) for 145 Euros.

Unless I will be screamed out here I will repost this badge for sale on the e-stand and make a link to this discussion. As I'm not up to cheat anyone I will give lifetime originalitygurantee (I'm 33 years old ) to the new owner!

                              Thanks for participating

                              Cheers Thomas
